About AUGI

In January 2005, a group of GIS professionals from around Illinois and a representative of ESRI met at the Champaign County Regional Planning Commission to discuss the possibility of establishing a group for users of ESRI technology with a focus on downstate Illinois. The first meeting was held two months later in March 2005 with phenomenal attendance representing virtually all regions of Illinois. AUGI strives to hold meetings three times a year and to invite presenters who represent the wide variety of ways that GIS, particularly ESRI technology, is being used.

Executive Committee

The governing structure of AUGI is made up of an Executive Committee made up of three elected officers and two volunteer coordinators. Officers were elected at the January 2006 meeting. The current officers and coordinators are:
