For example, this tool would be used to find all parcels assessed between a certain range of assessed values. To constuct a query, select the field you want to query on from the field dropdown list, select the operator you'd like to use from the operator dropdown list, type the value you're searching on, and click the Add to Query button. Multiple statements can be added to the query string using the same procedure and the operators which can be added by using the buttons on the right (e.g And, Or, Not). When you're done adding statements, click the Execute button. Sample Queries: To search for owners named John Smith: OWNER1_NAME LIKE %SMITH JOHN% The % characters are wildcards that look for strings with the value SMITH JOHN. This is necessary because of the structure of the data in the database. Select OWNER1_NAME from the Field dropdown, select LIKE from the Operator dropdown, type %SMITH JOHN% in the Value field, click Add to Query String, and then click Execute. To search for all parcels with net taxable values greater than or equal to $50,000 and bigger than 50 acres: NET_TAXABLE >= 50000 AND GROSS_ACRES > 50 To execute this query, you would select NET_TAXABLE in the Field dropdown list, pick the >= operator in the Operator dropdown, type 50000 in the Value field, and click Add to Query String. Next, you would select GROSS_ACRES from the Field dropdown list, choose the > operator from the Operator dropdown, type 50 in the Value field, click Add to Query String, and then click Execute. Query results can be zoomed to by clicking the underlined number in the upper left of each table in the Query/Selection Results pop-up window. Up to 25 results will be returned at a time. If there are more than 25 results, click on the More Records link at the bottom of the results window to see the next 25 records. The More Results link will appear as long as there are more records not being displayed on the page. Find: Allows user to find features in active layer having a particular value. This tool only works with text values such as parcel number, names, etc. It will not find numeric values such as EAV, TAX_BILLED, etc. The Query tool must be used to find numeric values. Sample Find Searches: Parcel Number: Type parcel number (either with or without dashes) in box. Owners with the last name Smith: type SMITH in the box. Results can be zoomed to by clicking on the small underlined number in the upper left of each table in the Query/Selection results pop-up window. Up to 25 results will be returned at a time. If there are more than 25 results, click on the More Records link at the bottom of the results window to see the next 25 records. The More Results link will appear as long as there are more records not being displayed on the page. Measure: Measure distances on map. Click mouse button at first point, then move to second point and click again. Repeat for each segment. Segment length and total length will display at top of map frame. Click on any other tool to end measurement. Buffer: Selects features within a user-defined buffer around selected feature. For example, this tool would be used to find all parcels within 250ft of a particular parcel. To use, first select feature(s) using the Query, Find, or Select Features tools. Click on Buffer tool and set parameters. Features found by Buffer tool will display in new window. Select by Rectangle: Allows user to draw rectangle to select features from active layer. All features intersected by or inside rectangle will be selected. Attributes for selected features will display in new window. Select by Line/Polygon: Allows user to draw line or polygon (closed shape) to select features from active layer. For example, to select all parcels along a block, a line can be drawn through the parcels to be selected. After clicking on tool, click points for line or polygon on map. Click OK if you receive a notice that says "Response from previous request(s) not received". Once you have clicked points, click either "Complete Line and Select" or "Click Polygon and Select" button in Select Line/Polygon window. Clear Selected/Highlighted Features: Clears features selected by user, also clears lines drawn with Measure tool or Select Line/Polygon tool. Find Address: Finds approximate location of address input by user. Zone field is for town name. A list of possible matches and a score will open a new window. Addresses can be zoomed to by clicking on the record number on the far left of each item in the list. More than one record can be returned per query, so it is important to use the correct zone (town name) when possible. Sample Address Queries: Please note that the format for State and US highways has changed. This has been done to make the centerline data consistent with the format the County uses to maintain other centerline data. State Route: 1000 N STHY 17 Routes marked with more than one number: 1000 N STHY 117 US Highways: 1000 N USHY 4552 If a State or US highway has a municipally-assigned street name, you should try searching on that name before searching with the route number. Print: Print a copy of the map view. After clicking on Print tool, a new window will open where the user can enter a title that will be printed on the printout. After entering title, click Create Print Page button and use your browser's print function to print the resulting page. It may take approximately one minute to generate the print page.
